No class at all!

I agree....Also seen a few friends I played against when i was in HS....Keith and Kelvin Davis, and Derrick Clark...Fun night as I said, much better game then I expected..

I can't say I'm surprised that Burton won, however, the method in which they won totally floored me.

I was at the Coeburn--Th. Walker game and didn't get to actually experience it, but when I heard that the score was first 20-6 and then 20-12 (they announced it), I was dumbfounded because I couldn't believe Powell Valley was actually holding them down.

By the time I left the game and was going home, on the radio I heard that Burton was actually in the lead and I was listening to the last few hectic seconds of the game in which Powell Valley tried numerous times to throw the ball in order for a hope for a last-second score that would give them the win.

I was shocked that Burton had come back when they were originally down 20-6, and the fact that it was such a close game (30-26) was crazy and I never expected something like that.

This is perhaps one of the worst choices I've ever made tonight because I missed out on what is probably the game of the year hands down.

Congratulations to both teams - I wasn't there, but I know that it was one heck of a slugfest from what I heard.

Your right there wont be a better game in this end of the state this year.

That's the sad side of athletics. All schools and all teams have them. They make everybody look bad. It's too bad people can't be as magnanimous in victory as well as defeat...

I usually don't post on things like this. But, last year I went to a few JIB games...and the fans do have an air about them that I don't see in as great numbers other places as I do there. But, as I was leaving tonight, the filth and trash coming from the whole first section of the visitors bleachers was sad....It wasn't just a few. It didn't bother me but I can see why some would be upset.

You actually went to a TW/Coeburn game? How dead is your little world.

It was Coeburn's homecoming and we went because I hadn't been to a Coeburn game this year.

Both sides played fairly sloppy.. Thomas Walker has one of the worst offenses I believe I've ever seen in my life. They couldn't run and their passes were generally miserably slow and wobbly and inaccurate. They had several interceptions and there was just no execution at all.

On Coeburn's side, it was the usual "run 10 times, pass once" philosophy that we've seen in the past few games and there were very few passes that were complete. They may have completed two or three passes the entire night from what I remember .. they ran the ball most of the time.

The final score - 14-6 (Coeburn winning) - speaks for itself. I almost fell asleep during the game.. it was like watching a P-Nut game because both sides couldn't move the ball anywhere. Definitely won't be going to any more of those ballgames this year.

I don't know why but winning seems to do this to people. I remeber they Jones years at PV and the same atitude in Wise( about baseball). I had a fan of PV once tell me that they felt sorry for their boys. It had been four years since they got a ring. I like Burton, but the fans have been spoiled by their success just ike others.

All schools have fans that make jacka$$es of themselves from time to time...but if you read my post, I said not in those numbers...lol...I just tried to make a decent post...I'm not whining about it cuz really, it didn't bother me...ut as I said, I can see why some would feel differently.

I sign off on that Omnibus. Some (not all) of their fans, are over-inflated now. When someone picks them in a close game, its like they desecrated the grave of a loved one. It doesn't seem to be the Norton players or coaches but as typical, some of the fans who ruin most good things.
